  • DIR/Floor Time ®
  • DIR/Floor Time ® takes into consideration the actual developmental levels of a child, supports any underlying neurological differences that may be impeding development, while encouraging a co-regulated relationship between the child and his/her environment.

Dr. Hess uses the highly successful "DIR/Floor Time" method of intervention based on the model of the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Stanley Greenspan, with whom Dr. Hess has spent numerous years training with.

Using a hands on approach, Dr. Hess creates a comfortable and highly interactive environment for her patients, so that the children begin to feel in control of their surroundings.

Dr. Hess uses dogs as therapeutic companions to help her patients. A "child-size" toy closet helps children reach maximum sensory input and control. Dr. Hess uses her kitchen as a lab to assist children with specific tactile and oral defensiveness.
